For today’s questions:

When do you start Christmas shopping? 

I kinda of shop all year long and then still don’t formally make a list of items to get for people.  I buy for my friend’s two girls and my other friend’s son and they are pretty much done…noisey toys and books here they come :)  For my family they normally get White House Christmas Ornaments when I get them this time of the year to help a local Children’s Center fundraiser.  I really buy when I see something I know that the person would like. My list is almost done just a few more family member gifts..and well they have to be done ASAP as we are celebrating at Thanksgiving!

How do you budget for Christmas?

I don’t really have a budget for Christmas, much to the dismay of my financial manager, my brother :)  I kinda of look for deals on things all year long. 
Do you stick to your budget?
not really.  I just buy till my list is done.   I don’t overspend on people I don’t think. I know that throughout the year I buy things for my friends kids and that is kinda of like an early Christmas present to them.
Share with us any budgeting tips you may have!
I shop for things on sale throughout the year, I use giftbags instead of wrapping paper. Hopefully for next year, I will have won a ton of contests throughout the year to give people gifts from :)  I have so many friends having babies or buying houses that so many of the contests have awesome products I couldn’t afford otherwise.

    I use a lot of gift bags too, especially for those akward shape gifts

    I re-use gift bags all the time, or buy the cheapy plain ones and let my son decorate them.

    To answer your question from my post, we do make ornaments some years, soaps, wax critters, magnets, pillows, just about anything you can imagine, we’ve made as a gift I think.

    Thanks for stopping by the princesses! I love using gift bags as well! For me it is less mess and I don’t have to look for sissors and tape that I move all the time while I am wrapping!

    White House ornaments are always a great gift. I get them for family as well.

    All year round, that is what I’m doing next year, much easier to budget that way. We started last month and I think we are almsot done, I just have to do the photo books

    i like shopping all year long, too. makes it so much easier… although I slacked off this year!
