“Don’t call me and ask me when I’m coming home!”

August 6th, 2008 · No Comments

Today Kidlet #3 and I went out to dinner then went to a school supply store to get some supplies and a memory card for the new camcorder.
I was checking out in line and a gentleman asked if he could go ahead, he had one item and was getting on a bus.  I said sure [...]

Dynamics

June 10th, 2008 · No Comments

Kidlet #1 has been gone for 2 days now.   Kidlet #2 and #3 have been here doing various things.  It has been really interesting seeing the dynamics of the Kidlet #2 and #3 together.  I think over the next two weeks they will have a special bonding period that normally doesn’t happen.
Dinner has been drama [...]

Back to work after 5 days off!

May 28th, 2008 · No Comments

I have been off work since Thursday evening.  It has been great, exhausting, profitable and exhausting!   I loaded my car up twice with items for my yard sale that I was having at my friend’s house in Pennsylvania.
But more on that later, today my oldest, Kidlet #1 is home because school is out.  He came [...]

The Final Season

May 9th, 2008 · No Comments

Kidlet #3 and I watched the movie  The Final Season this afternoon. It was a great baseball movie. It recalls the story of the Legendary Norway High School’s final season as a team and school in 1991.   Norway, Iowa is all about baseball.  The team had won 19 state championships and then in 1991 it was [...]

I just might as well not be here then…

May 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

was the last statement my Kidlet #1 said as he stomped up the stairs just a few minutes ago. I was laughing silently.  He had come downstairs to see what I was doing on Friday. I said going to my Grandma’s. *see side note below on my Grandma*  What about during the day. I said um doing [...]

Good Luck

May 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Today I was at my weight loss group meeting and one of the ladies brought in a beautiful vase of Lilies of the Valley.  I call this lady one of my Grandmas, since I am the youngest in the group :).  She also happens to be one of four nuns in the group.  She is [...]

Charts …why everyone could use one

April 30th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I have received several positive responses to my blog post on Turn off that Playstation and computer!   I even had one person ask if this “electronic time” could work with her husband.   I am sure you could use this for all ages.  You might have to change the consequences for those over the age of [...]

Thank you so much Trader Joe’s!

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday Kidlet #3 didn’t have school.  We went to Trader Joe’s  to pick out some foods to try.  His grandma told us about how she goes there for dinner for her and grandpa.  Before we left Mom asked us to get some chocolate cat cookies.
The weather was beyond horrific.  It was raining buckets straight down.  [...]

Comparing of nannies

April 27th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I consider myself a “tough love” type nanny.  I believe in giving kids the inch to grow/learn on.  If they take more than the inch, well then they are in for a big surprise or two.  I am pretty realistic as well.   Life has become pretty sugar coated for kids over the past 13 years [...]
