Tonight, the 11 yr old kidlet asked if we could go to McDonald’s for dinner. Sure fine-it is raining and sleeting. The older kidlet is gone. So it is just the two of us for dinner.
We get there and I use my AMEX to pay for dinner. He gets a Mighty Kids Meal and was completely bummed it was only a double hamburger and not bigger fries etc. I had a nasty Big Mac. He ended up tasting it and wanted to order that next time. We were talking about how it had like 3 days worth of calories in it. (Yeah I know why did I order it?-I lost .75lbs in the past 2 weeks I was celebrating :) ) So after he was done eating he was still hungry. So he asked if he could get a chicken wrap. I said sure. So I gave him my AMEX to use and he goes up there and buys 2 of them and a sugar cookie. They let a 11 yr old use a credit card without ID. I was cracking up to myself–some credit card security you got going here. So the kidlet comes back to table and hands me the receipt (good kid) and it only has 2 wraps one it no cookie. He then goes and gets his food. He tells the guy, I ordered a sugar cookie and he said I only charged you for 2 snack wraps. So he walked away disappointed that he didn’t get a cookie. This is added to the fact that the Mcflurry machine was broken and there was no McFlurry or Ice Cream.
Moral of the story:
Don’t go to McD’s for dinner and don’t expect to get ice cream/Mcflurry because it will be broken and defintely give your kids your Credit Card because they won’t ask for ID!

I used to work for a credit card company. I’m willing to bet that they know that if a charge that small is ever disputed, the company would just credit it back and not bother the shop. Still quite stupid and irresponsible, though.
