DRAMA……..

preteen and teen drama classes …..

So Kidlet #1 and #3 are in two different dram camps this summer.  They are both in a play as well.  This week is Kidlet #1’s big debut…singing, dancing and acting!   Jokingly the other kidlets and I have offered to sell his tickets to his friends on facebook :)   We won’t though.  He is getting much better at singing as well.

Kidlet #3 is having a blast in his camp.  He has been making various friends including 3 from his previous acting/improv classes from the spring.  His performance is next week.  He is learning stage combat, makeup application, american sign language, voice classes and drama classes.  6.5 hours a day of classes and rehearsal.  He is very excited that he received 6 speaking lines, 3 solo parts in some songs among group lines.  This is his first real “play” so he is happy with his part.  Not too much and not too little for him to memorize and so forth.

Till the curtan rises….

So are your charges smarter than mine? My twins only go to camp playland, play tennis, do guitar, drums, piano, go on the yearly summer Europe tour through museums, visit their CA house and do summer homework due next month.
Legoland East has been constructed in their leisure time in the playroom. So they do get to play sometimes. and that is my area of expertise and I get less and less time to do what I believe is the highest form of learning for children. But they grow up and on…

the kids know one of my mottos: every day is a good day to play.

They will seem smarter once school starts and karate, knitting, chess, hockey resume. Tennis is all year around and T-ball or whatever they call it now, and soccer get fit in the plan somewhere.

What is hard for them to fit into the schedule is time to go to the bathroom and you know, take a shit.
Do your charges ever have the constipation problem? let them eat Cheerios
    that works around here.

Anyway, my charges are having adventures, but I am getting lost in managing these things they are scheduled into; trying to find something I can claim as adventurous for me.

So I wandered past the security cameras down to the beach and smoked a cigarette in memory of my recently deceased sister (she didn’t smoke and I quit, but the personal assistant gives me
one from time to time when I want to relive the rush). Bad nanny adventure, I guess you could classify that. Found a good piece of sea glass for my collection.

I am about to go on my 10 day off period between the weekends I work. Now that’s when I’ll get some adventuring in. I’ll be back around after I go on a road trip.

Happy adventures, ya”ll. yeah… bad grammar, but I’m heading south and catching some local lingo.
