ADCAN was founded in 1986 by a group of nannies, who wanted to provide an educational and support group to Metro DC nannies.  One of these nannies was Harriette Grant, who was a founding member of the INA  as well as serve on their board. She also was the INA’s first Nanny of the Year (NOTY) in 1990.  ADCAN is still going strong after 22 years.  They are the longest running Nanny support group in the US.  I have been an active member of ADCAN since 1996.  I have also been an active member of the INA since 2003.
